Selfly Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 24, 2026 | Operator: Tianzhen Li | Contact: selflyapp@gmail.com

This policy applies to the iOS application Selfly and its iCloud synchronization features.

1. Information We Process

Selfly is a local-first application. It does not require account registration and does not operate its own servers to store your content. We only process information necessary to provide core functionality, including content you create (such as tasks, daily records and summaries, journals, lists and plans, completion status, and related metadata like titles and descriptions), interface preferences (such as themes and layouts), and photos you choose to add (stored as copies within the app).

The app may generate local diagnostic logs for troubleshooting and performance optimization. These logs are not used to collect your journal or task content, but may include technical error information.

We do not collect sensitive financial information such as ID numbers, bank details, or payment card numbers. Payments and subscriptions are handled by Apple’s App Store / StoreKit, and we do not collect or store your payment information.

The app does not request access to microphone, camera, location, contacts, or health data. Photo library access is only used when you choose to select images.

2. Purpose of Processing

We process information solely to provide core features (recording and reviewing), enable multi-device synchronization when iCloud is enabled, manage in-app purchases and subscription status, and ensure app security and stability. We do not use your content for advertising, marketing, or behavioral analytics.

3. Storage and Transmission

Your data is stored locally within your device’s app sandbox by default. Deleting the app will remove local data (subject to system behavior).

If you enable iCloud synchronization, your data will be synced via Apple CloudKit to your iCloud account associated with your Apple ID. Data transmission and storage are protected by Apple’s system-level encryption and access controls, and may be processed across Apple’s global data centers. We do not operate any servers to host your content.

The system may use background processes related to iCloud synchronization to keep your data up to date. These are not used for marketing notifications.

iCloud sync is an optional feature supported by Apple infrastructure. Users can choose to enable or disable it.You may disable it at any time in system settings. If iCloud sync is disabled, the app will switch to local-only storage. Data already stored in iCloud remains in your iCloud account and can be managed through Apple’s system tools.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Your data is not shared with third parties, except where necessary for Apple iCloud / CloudKit synchronization, App Store payment processing, or where required by law. The app does not integrate advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking services.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained until you delete it or uninstall the app (subject to system behavior). Once deleted, local and synced data will be removed (there may be system delays). Data stored in iCloud can be accessed and managed through your device settings and iCloud storage management. We do not retain your content outside your control.

6. Your Rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to disable iCloud synchronization at any time. You can revoke photo access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Selfly. Subscription management is handled through Apple’s system settings.

If you have any questions about data processing, you may contact us at selflyapp@gmail.com, and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Children’s Privacy

This app is a general-purpose tool. Minors should use it under the guidance of a guardian. If a guardian believes that data should be deleted, they may contact us via email.

8. Security

We rely on iOS sandboxing and Apple’s encryption technologies to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Policy Hosting

Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages displayed within the app may be hosted on third-party static hosting services (such as GitHub Pages). These accesses are only for displaying legal documents and are not linked to your app data.

10. Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy based on product changes or legal requirements. Significant changes will be notified within the app and reflected by updating the effective date. Where required by law, we may seek your consent. If you do not agree with the updated policy, please stop using the app.
